Harley-Davidson has fundamentally revised its Softail model series for the 2017 model year.

The concept of the rebound-loaded shock absorber has been completely rethought and the frame and swingarm have been redesigned. There is now space for a conventional, compression-loaded shock absorber. This was the starting signal for us to develop a Nivomat suspension for the model series in close co-operation with ZF.

The goal was clear: more ride comfort without having to sacrifice stability and an optimum levelling position that the system regulates continuously while driving.

Here, too, we have achieved our goal!

The Wilbers Nivomat suspension strut offers excellent comfort in all situations.

It adapts to the different load conditions without any intervention, completely automatically - without buttons and without electronics!

After the pillion rider has taken a seat, with or without luggage, the low-slung chassis pumps itself back up to the defined ride height after a few metres of riding, as the shock absorber pumps additional oil into its cylinder through its own lifting movement.
The resulting increase in pressure also leads to an adjustment of the damping.

Suspension kit includes:
- Wilbers Nivomat
- Zero Friction fork springs
- Fork oil

The Wilbers Nivomat is maintenance-free and comes with a 10-year warranty!

All we can say is WOW...WOW...WOW!! Installed them myself even though I'm an old fat man. Watched the "Brad The Wizard" installation and it went fine. I set the initial sag the way the EPM Performance tech adjusted Cycle Fanatic's bike. Just gotta love YouTube. Anyway, my wife and I have done 700 - 800 miles since installation and to say night and day difference is just an understatement. Great, great product!!

Haven't had much riding time since we put them on, but for the short time we have been on the bike, you can notice a nice, smooth ride.

Bought this suspension setup so I didn’t have to adjust the preload when riding 2 up anymore. I will say, it’s a little stiffer than stock when riding solo, but when riding 2 up you can’t hardly feel the bumps anymore. Stock setup used to bottom out the shocks all the time, even properly adjusted. Since having the Wilbers installed,we haven’t bottomed out once. Thoroughly impressed and completely happy with my purchase.

Have about 100 miles on the rear shock and as advertised, it is much much better than the stock unit, especially with luggage and passenger. The springs, on the other hand, are about as soft as the stock springs on the 25 FXLRST so those will be swapped out again for either Legends cartridges or race tech.

Hey Johnny,

Sorry to hear that you find front soft still. Reach back out to us I would be happy to help you find another setup and take those springs back.

Finally had a chance to do an extended ride this weekend I'm super pleased on how much smoother the bike rode 2-up.
My wife really enjoyed the ride much.
I would not hesitate on buying this for a future bike. Thanks for the awesome ride.
