Shock Absorber Type 642 S Competition
From the factory, the Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory is a well-made motorcycle, but the stock suspension transmits sharp impacts too directly to the rider. This is partly due to an overdamped rear shock. The Wilbers setup remedies this and optimizes negative spring travel for a more compliant ride.
The fork’s linear 9.5 N/mm springs are too stiff for road use, unnecessarily reducing comfort. For the street we supply progressive fork springs (8.5–10 N/mm) with a carefully adjusted air chamber that still leaves headroom for occasional track use. For focused track riding, we recommend our 642 S Competition shock, linear 10 N/mm fork springs, and our “GP5 New Racing Formula” fork oil.
You receive a 5-year warranty on the 642 S Competition shock. Our ABE eliminates the need for a vehicle-document entry.

Can’t rave enough about the set-up! Two weeks after installation, I went on a 9 day ride from Staten Island NY to Key West FL and back, with various stops in between.
