Shock Absorber Type 641 Competition
The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 is delivered with linear fork springs. The Wilbers upgrade uses progressive fork springs for a more responsive front end and substantially more reserve in the second spring rate than the stock linear design. The standard fork is also slightly overdamped in rebound; our setup corrects this for a smoother, more controlled ride.
At the rear, the OEM progressive spring has a very poor block value that keeps the rider riding in the second, overly stiff rate — the bike feels harsh and unstable. Wilbers replaces it with a linear spring and optimizes rebound and compression damping, delivering clearer road feedback, greater comfort, and improved safety. To balance the Tiger’s rear-heavy stance, we also increase negative spring travel accordingly.
This shock absorber connects its compression tank to the main body via a flexible steel hose — perfect where space is tight. The hose can be positioned where airflow aids cooling (e.g., along the rear frame). High- and low-speed compression are each adjustable in 22 clicks, rebound is set via an open-bleed system with 22 clicks, and preload is continuously adjustable.
