The Wilbers suspension conversion provides a noticeably improved fork response by replacing the linear fork springs with progressive ones. This results in smoother initial movement and greater reserve in the second spring rate. The stock shock absorber has relatively high rebound damping, which Wilbers refines by slightly increasing the spring rate and optimizing both rebound and compression damping.
The suspension geometry at the front and rear has also been adjusted through negative spring travel to achieve a balanced, responsive setup. The Wilbers conversion offers a significantly broader adjustment range than the factory configuration.
This shock absorber connects its compression tank to the main body using a flexible steel hose, making it ideal for motorcycles with tight installation space. The hose can be routed freely — for example, along the rear frame — where airflow also aids in cooling. The external high- and low-speed compression adjusters, each with 22 clicks, are easy to access. Rebound damping can be fine-tuned via an open-bleed system with 22 clicks, and the spring preload is continuously adjustable.
