Shock Absorber Type 640 Road
In series production, the shock absorber of the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory KG has noticeably too much rebound damping. The Wilbers shock absorber has been optimized in both rebound and compression damping, offering a wider adjustment range than the unit installed ex-works.
This results in significantly improved handling and a notable increase in riding safety.
All the experience and development from our racing team flow directly into the individual tuning of each shock absorber. This means you receive a true race-replica shock absorber from Wilbers.
Ex-works, the fork is equipped with linear fork springs. The Wilbers solution also uses linear springs, but with variable gradations depending on the rider’s weight, intended use, or — when used on the racetrack — the weather.
Depending on application, we recommend SAE5 or GP5 fork oil, with the GP5 variant particularly suitable for track use. With the Wilbers conversion, both the negative spring travel and response behavior are optimized accordingly.
The basic edition of the Wilbers Adjustline mono shock absorber features the same technology as the more complex versions. The only difference is that it omits the compression reservoir and therefore the ability to adjust high- and low-speed compression. Despite this, it makes no compromises in response behavior or durability. The radial piston, wet-run operation, Teflon-guided self-aligning bearings, and other design details redefine the quality standard for a mono shock. As usual, the spring preload is continuously adjustable, and rebound can be set via an open-bleed system in 22 clicks. The shock absorber can also be retrofitted with many Wilbers accessories.
