In the Honda NT 1100 / SC84, progressive fork springs are installed from the factory. However, the first spring rate is too soft while the second is too firm, and due to a non-optimal block value, the second rate is reached too quickly. The stock fork damping is also not ideal, causing the fork to react abruptly.

The Wilbers solution uses slightly stiffer springs at the beginning and softer, progressive springs for the second stage. The block value has been optimized compared to the original setup. This conversion provides a noticeably smoother and more controlled fork response.

The OEM shock absorber of the Honda NT 1100 / SC84 also uses a progressive spring with a poor block value, which keeps the rider constantly operating in the second, overly stiff spring rate. Combined with the progressive linkage system, this results in very little comfort in the stock configuration. The Wilbers conversion replaces this with linear springs on the shock absorber, paired with optimized rebound and compression damping for maximum comfort.

The suspension geometry at both the front and rear has been carefully refined through adjustments to the negative spring deflection. The stock setup had excessive negative travel, so we manufacture the Wilbers shock slightly shorter. However, because of the corrected spring deflection, the seat height remains unchanged compared to the original chassis. The result is improved handling, stability, and rider safety.

The basic edition of the Wilbers Adjustline mono shock absorber features the same advanced technology as the more complex versions. The only difference is the omission of the compression reservoir and, therefore, the ability to adjust high- and low-speed compression. Despite this, it makes no compromises in response behavior or durability. The radial piston, wet-run operation, and Teflon-guided self-aligning bearings redefine the quality standard of a mono shock. As usual, the spring preload can be continuously adjusted, and the rebound damping can be fine-tuned via an open-bleed system in 22 clicks. The shock absorber can also be retrofitted with numerous Wilbers accessories.
