Shock Absorber Type 640 Road
Originally, the fork was equipped with linear springs. These have been replaced by progressive fork springs, resulting in a significantly better initial response and providing more reserve in the second spring rate compared to the stock setup.
On the rear shock, the spring rate has been adjusted using a slightly stiffer spring, combined with optimized rebound and compression damping. The suspension geometry at both the front and rear axles has been sensibly refined through adjustments to the negative spring travel. Originally, the vehicle had slightly excessive negative travel; this has been corrected with a minimally shorter suspension strut, ensuring that the original seat height is retained.
The result is improved ride behavior and more precise handling, contributing to greater stability and safety.
The basic edition of the Wilbers Adjustline mono shock absorber features the same advanced technology as the more complex versions. The only difference is the omission of the compression reservoir and, consequently, the ability to adjust high- and low-speed compression. Nevertheless, this shock absorber makes no compromises in response behavior or durability. The radial piston design, wet-run operation, and Teflon-guided self-aligning bearings redefine the quality of a standard shock. As usual, the spring preload can be continuously adjusted, and rebound damping can be fine-tuned via an open-bleed system in 22 clicks. The shock absorber can also be retrofitted with numerous Wilbers accessories.
