Shock Absorber Type 640 Road
On the Honda NC 750 XA/XS (RH09), the seat height was reduced from 830 mm to 800 mm compared to its predecessor.
Originally, the fork featured progressive springs where the first spring rate was too soft, causing it to transition too early into the second, much stiffer spring rate. We address this by using slightly firmer initial springs and softer, progressive springs in the second stage. This conversion results in a noticeably improved fork response.
The rear shock is also fitted with a progressive spring from the factory, which has a poor block value and continually stresses the second, overly stiff spring rate. Our solution uses linear springs on the shock absorber, combined with optimized rebound and compression damping, for a more balanced and responsive ride.
The suspension geometry on the front and rear axles has been sensibly refined by adjusting the negative spring deflection to correct the overly high stock values. This results in a safer, more predictable ride and improved handling.
The basic edition of the Wilbers Adjustline mono shock absorber features the same advanced technology as the more complex versions. The only difference is the omission of the compression reservoir and, therefore, the ability to adjust high- and low-speed compression. Despite this, it makes no compromises in response behavior or durability. The radial piston, wet-run operation, and Teflon-guided self-aligning bearings redefine the quality standard of a mono shock. As usual, the spring preload can be continuously adjusted, and the rebound damping can be fine-tuned via an open-bleed system in 22 clicks. The shock absorber can also be retrofitted with numerous Wilbers accessories.
