Shock Absorber Type 642 Lift +70mm Suspension Kit
Our suspension kit for the BMW R NineT Scrambler and Urban GS was developed with a trusted partner to better express each model’s character. Because the stock suspension offers limited adjustability, we modified the original fork and engineered a longer, model-specific shock absorber.
The fork receives longer tubes and a cartridge system that, unlike the stock fork, provides rebound and compression adjustment plus spring-preload adjustment. The result is a 70 mm increase in height, adding both suspension travel and ground clearance — ideal beyond paved roads. Give your BMW long legs and enjoy an incomparable riding experience.
Suspension kit includes:
- Type 642 shock absorber
- “C30R” cartridge set with longer stanchions
- Fork oil
We provide a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty on our products.

Haven't ridden yet, I had to wait on inner fork tubes but the seals look well made
Bryan, Mike and Frank and the crew were great work with to help get my YSS re302 sorted with a better spring rate. (46-13-28-180mm) Yesterday I went down a very chattery road and was surprised how much smoother the ride was. I recommend working with EPM Performance.
I installed this on a 2022 RC390 that I use for a track day bike. I could not be more pleased with the performance of this shock it is a huge upgrade over stock. within two laps I was on my previous year PB lap time with far less effort. Out of the box first impression was WOW! this is a well made very nice piece of kit, installation was a Breeze. For anyone on a budget like Myself trying to improve your bike and skill you cant go wrong with this for the price. My hat is off to YSS for producing a shock like this for guys like me.
