Shock Absorber Type 640 Road
The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 comes with linear fork springs from the factory. The Wilbers solution, on the other hand, uses progressive fork springs, which leads to improved responsiveness and offers considerably more reserve in the second spring rate than the linear fork springs.
The rebound damping in the fork is slightly overdamped in the standard version.
The rear shock absorber of the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 is fitted with a progressive spring as standard, but this has a dramatically poor block value, causing the rider to ride permanently in the second spring, which is clearly too hard. This makes the vehicle feel very uncomfortable and unstable. In combination with a linear spring with optimised rebound and compression damping, the Wilbers solution offers much better feedback from the road. This increases driving comfort and safety!
To counteract the rear-heavy setting of the vehicle, we increase the negative spring travel accordingly.
The basic edition of the Wilbers Adjustline mono shock absorber comes along with the same technology as the more complex versions. The difference is that here we leave out the compression reservoir and thus the options for adjusting high- and low-speed compression. Nonetheless this shock absorber does not make any compromises concerning response behavior or durability. The radial piston, wet run, teflon guided self-aligning bearings and other features redefine the quality of a standard shock. Like usual the spring preload can be continuously tuned and the rebound can be set over an open-bleed system in 22 clicks. The shock absorber can be retrofitted with many other Wilbers accessories.

If you have a 40–50 lb rider on a Husqvarna EE 5 (or KTM SX-E 5 / TC 50), swapping out the factory shock spring for this 25 N/mm spring is hands-down the single best suspension upgrade you can make.
The stock rear spring is notoriously oversprung for young kids. Before installing this, our rider was getting bucked over braking bumps, the rear end skittered out in flat turns, and it was physically impossible to dial in correct rider sag—even backed all the way out on the preload collar.
Swapping to the 25 N spring completely transformed the bike's balance:
True Sag Numbers: Finally allowed us to set proper race sag (targeting ~60–65 mm) while still maintaining healthy static free sag.
Chassis Balance: Balances out the front WP air fork so the bike stays level and planted instead of riding stinkbug into turns.
Instant Confidence: The rear wheel actually tracks through acceleration chop and ruts now rather than deflecting. Our rider felt the difference on lap one—much less fatigue and far more control over rough, choppy sections.
Fit and finish (47x130) are spot-on, drop-in replacement with the stock WP shock collars, and the coating holds up to roost and power washing. Don’t waste time fighting the stock spring if your kid is under 55 lbs—this 25 N spring fixes the rear end completely. Highly recommend!
