Shock Absorber Type 540 Road

Originally, the fork had linear fork springs. These have been replaced by progressive fork springs, which leads to a significantly better initial response and offers more reserve in the second spring rate than the series. On the rear shock, the spring rate is adjusted via a slightly stiffer spring, in combination with optimised rebound and compression damping.
The suspension geometry on the front and rear axle was sensibly adjusted via the negative spring travel. Originally, the vehicle had somewhat high negative spring travel. These were adjusted by a minimally shorter suspension strut, so that the original seat height is retained.
This results in better driving behaviour and better handling, which also contributes to safe driving behaviour.
