In series production, the Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory is a well-built motorcycle.

However, the stock suspension is not as refined as one might expect. Hard impacts and bumps in the road are transmitted too directly to the rider. This is largely due to the overdamped rear shock. In the Wilbers solution, this issue has been corrected, and the negative spring travel has also been optimized.

The fork, with its linear 9.5 N/mm springs, is clearly too stiff for regular road use, which unnecessarily reduces ride comfort. For the street, we provide progressive fork springs rated between 8.5 N/mm and 10 N/mm, along with a precisely adjusted air chamber. This combination still offers sufficient reserve for occasional racetrack use.

For dedicated track riders, we recommend our 642 S Competition shock, linear fork springs with a 10 N/mm rate, and our high-quality “GP5 New Racing Formula” fork oil.

The basic edition of the Wilbers Adjustline mono shock absorber features the same technology as the more complex versions. The only difference is that it omits the compression reservoir and thus the option to adjust high- and low-speed compression. Nonetheless, this shock absorber makes no compromises in response behavior or durability. Its radial piston, wet-run design, and Teflon-guided self-aligning bearings redefine the quality standard of a conventional shock. As usual, the spring preload can be continuously adjusted, and rebound can be set via an open-bleed system in 22 clicks. The shock absorber can also be retrofitted with numerous Wilbers accessories.
